Grandmom's Here!

Today was my mom's first full day visiting and Chris' first official day back to work (sigh). Allie has decided to celebrate both by sleeping and being extra cute...here are some highlights :o).

See? Sleeping and being extra cute.

Rub-a-dub-dub, my cord fell off so I can bathe in the tub!

Mom, make her stop crying!

Grandmom's so cozy :o).

One of Christopher's 'Allie Breaks' during his first day back on the job.

Cuddle time with Mom.

Gotta bounce, yo.

First 2 weeks

Hard to believe Allie is already 2 weeks old! She just had her 2 week doctor's appointment this morning and everything's looking great, so hopefully that keeps up. Allie gained her birthweight back and then some, and she's an inch and a half longer than when she was born! Needless to say, we're extremely proud of her for her accomplishments :o). She now weighs 8 lbs, 8 oz (and that was after a very lady-like audible poop which we had to change out before the doctor weighed her). She got her first shot and turned the same shade of red that she was wearing, but got over it fairly quickly, so we'll take it.

Here are some highlights from our first two weeks at home (and period, really). Next big event, Grandmom (Suz' mom) comes to visit for a week starting this Sunday when Chris has to try to concentrate on something other than the little sleeping beauty on his chest as he returns to work. Of course, since Chris works from home, I have a feeling he'll take a few Allie breaks as needed...

Who ordered a California King?! Oh wait, I'm just that tiny.

Our first stroll :o).

My parents think I rock.

My favorite napping place.

Sweet dreams.

Clean me up! I have visitors!

Thanks, Gottliebs for the hoody towel! I love it!

We think she sometimes resembles a snapping turtle when she makes this face, but she's our snapping turtle and we love her :o).

If I wear this shirt, my big sis will HAVE to love me! (Thanks Aunt Brenda. Uncle Jonathan, and Cousin Tim!)

What is this bundle? I need a closer look...must...give...kisses...

Finally! A proper greeting! (For the record, we try not to let her do this too often, she's really been very good :o)

Abs: I will stay close just in case she needs my help.

One happy Grammy.

Grandpop looks pretty content too...

Hanging with my boys.

It's tiring being this cute.

Special Delivery

Allison Kathleen Eicholtz joined us at 1:01am, Saturday, February 12th 2011. She made her entrance weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz, 19.5 inches long (although she had a bit of a conehead, so probably more like 19 inches:o), and came complete with a full head of black hair and dark blue eyes! Chris thought of the name Allie (Allison) and Kathleen is Suz' Grandma Wintrode's name who passed away in November, but who we're pretty sure is checking in on her latest great-grandchild from above and smiling.

Suz started having contractions at work on Friday, stayed long enough to complete her day (and freak out her co-workers) and then went home for 2 hours and called the doctor. Before we called the doctor, we called Grandmom and Grandpa in North Carolina to let them know our progress. Grandpa said they would wait until the morning to make the drive up. Grandmom said 'let us talk about it.' Five minutes later, we received a call from them saying they were on their way. We made it to the hospital around 7pm and were admitted. A few short (although pre-epidural, they did NOT feel short) hours later, we were a family of three and extremely excited to finally meet our girl. So far Allie has been a very considerate baby. She let Suz make it through her last planned day of work; she waited until the Super Bowl and Duke vs. UNC games were over; she let her Grammy finish up her Hypothermia Shelter work the week before; and she let Grandmom and Grandpa make it in to Virginia with a couple hours to spare before she came.

We were allowed to stay in the hospital until Monday morning, but we felt good and ready to be at home with our little one so we made our way home Sunday afternoon. Here are a few pictures of our special delivery!

Our first family photo.

Allie in all her glory :o).

We loved her even before she was clean!

Yep, that's the little finger he's already wrapped around.

The Wintrode ribs.

Happy Mom.

Unhappy Allie...bath time.

Ah, but I like the spa treatment!

Allie meets more of her family.

She will not like this when she is a teen, but look at those cheeks and those rolls!

Suz and Allie, post shower.

Allie's cousin Tim is a natural! He's going to be an awesome big brother.

Pretty in pink.

Ready to head home!

Home finally and sleeping on Daddy's chest...life is good :o).
