Well these pictures seem like a lifetime ago now, but before we became a family of 4 in dramatic fashion, we got pummeled by a blizzard and invaded by energetic party-goers as we celebrated Allie's 5th birthday a little early (and good thing we did too!).
We received over 3 feet of snow 3 weeks before Wesley's due date. The roads were cleared just in time for our girl's birthday celebration. But this is what we started with...
| Drifts on our walkout almost a full Allie-tall. |
| And almost as tall as a Wesley-belly. |
| And almost as tall as a standing-Daisy. |
| And sometimes... |
| even... |
| taller. |
| Those who were not with-child bundled up and enjoyed the winter-wonderland. |
| And if you've never sled down a car-full of snow, well, you don't know what you're missing. |
| Snow much fun! |
This year's birthday party theme was 'Belle' as she makes her way through her Grandmom-made repertoire of princess dresses. With me only weeks away from delivery (turns out that week was singular!) and a pre-party accident with Grammy and Grandpop the morning of (all are well!), preparation was a little hectic, but the kids had a blast and Allie was more than happy to start her official celebration a little early.
| We went with a lot of yellow...it seemed the best way to make a princess-party co-ed. |
| This beauty made it out of the accident without a scratch on her! Nice work, Grammy! |
| Belle's neighborhood buds. |
| Making Chip cups and sugar-cube castles. |
| Royal party goers. |
| Dance party divas. |
| Last call for a family of 3! |
| Yeah...we'd say she had fun. |
As part of the fab-five celebration, we scheduled an ear-piercing for February 5th, which turned out to be perfect timing.
| Pre-piercing bravery. |
| Hmm... |
| those look sharp... |
| Made it. |
| Feeling a little better. |
| Such a big girl :o). |
And just 3 short days later...
| We began our journey to bring Wesley John Eicholtz home. |
But that deserves its
own post, and someone's hungry, so it's 'to be continued'...
beautiful!
