To my great delight, despite the high 70's this weekend, Fall is finally here! Last weekend certainly felt like it, so much so that we bundled up and even sprung for a winter coat for our girl (clearly Christopher was out of town). Christopher traveled to Chicago for a CrossFit competition (think hard-core fit people competing against other hard-core fit people) last weekend, and if it was brisk here, it was freezing there. Nothing a little sweat and deepdish pizza (post competition only) couldn't help.

 |
| What do you mean I missed one? |
Allie and I had a girls' weekend and also got to spend some quality time with Grammy and Grandpop in Chris' absence. During that time, the Phanatic took his place as one of Allie's favorite pals as evidenced below...

Then, on Thursday my parents came into town for the tail end of their whirlwind grandkids/family tour. Grandmom and Grandpa kept Allie out of 'school' (much to her teacher's chagrin :o) on Friday and spent the day with her. She hasn't stopped babbling about it. She had a blast! And I'm pretty sure Grandmom and Grandpa enjoyed getting reacquainted as well. On Saturday, we all went to Great Country Farms to pick a pumpkin...and...let's be honest...have a Fall Photo Shoot (hence the possible necessity of checking out the following pictures in small, manageable installments). We topped off the day with icecream from a little general store in Bluemont, 'Gonzales enchiladas' for dinner (Allie had chicken, sweet potatoes and pears, thank you very much), and, oh yeah, Allie took her first very-assisted steps...watch out world!
